The Art of Storytelling

COURSE DESCRIPTION

From “Once upon a time…” to “You know what happened yesterday evening…” human beings are natural storytellers. We enjoy sharing our experiences (little spiced-up, of course – all would agree secretly) and knowingly or unknowingly become a storyteller. If you were to inspire someone, from a child to the CEO of a company, the story would possibly be the first and the last draw from the quiver of arrows. Irrespective of who you are, from a mother to an industry leader, stories are the means of sending out covert suggestions to everyone. Stories have been told from ancient times and will be told to time undefined to entertain, motivate, teach, or suggest. Stories being so powerful and common a medium of communication, it is surprising that many find it difficult to use them appropriately and effectively. 

Art of Story Telling is an applied-NLP program designed to fill that gap. It follows a simple enough approach that could be learnt by anyone to locate, create, curate, annotate and narrate stories to achieve desired outcomes. It starts from basics and goes on to model some of the masters of the craft of storytelling. The program is divided into two parts.

• Part one deals with the basics of how to create a story and/or how to modify a story to meet requirements.
• Part two deals with the subtle art of engaging your audience and delivering the story.
